Run
Comments: I wasn't sure how I would do on this race since I had only run twice in about four weeks. I remembered from my first race that I started out too fast and then spent the rest of the race slowing down and speeding up trying to figure out a comfortable pace. This time I tried to start slower and keep a good, even pace. I guess it worked because as I came up to the first mile marker I saw the timer was under 10 minutesand I felt great! By the time I passed it I think it was just at 10:00. The rest of the race I tried to keep the same pace and I was excited when I saw the second mile marker was about 20:00. By then I knew I was feeling fine and was able to finish up much faster than I expected - under 10 minute miles for my first time ever. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Maybe get more training in beforehand so I can get even faster! Post race
Warm down: Walked around more, had an orange and some water, looked for Bob and Sharon again but never found them. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough practice Last updated: 2005-11-27 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:30 - got dressed and ate a few Norwegian Waffles I had made for Thanksgiving dessert. Drove down to Tamarac a little early since I didn't know where I was going.
Registered - walked around a bit trying to get warm and looking for Bob and Sharon. Realized I had gotten there way to early and since I didn't know anyone I was bored waiting for the race to start.
