Calling all NC-ers for the December Swim Challenge?

Anybody want to step up and be team captain? I can if no one else wants.

I'm down for 6000 yds (only will have pool access for ~2 weeks). Do people want to re-post their goals here so we know? I don't want to have to dig thru the original thread.

I think Bulldog said he would be Captain as well.

I am in for 8 miles = 14100 yards

If you can change the subject, I think our name is the Carolina Curmudgeons.

Put me down for 18000 yards... I really am hoping to get more pool time in than that, but with the holidays coming up, i bet I won't...

Hmmmm supposed to be 70o tomorrow in Tampa. Guess that's warm enough to go for a swim.

Maybe you guys could warm up with a big mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows before you go for your frigid swims?

Maybe you guys in FL aren't as civilized as we are put we have these things called buildings that selter us from the weather and some of these buildings have heated pool. Makes for a great morning swim.

PS. These pools are also free of alligators.

Yep, 15,000 meters coming atchaya'll. (I'm from Minnesota, so this southern talk thing works much better when I type it than when I say it).

WE SHALL SPANK THEM ALL.

And what happens if we don't, again???

The Ring of Fire are still trying to figure out who's on their team..........this should be easy pickins.

The Midwest team is fighting the snow already.......they will get tired of that by the end of December and sit on the couch.

The Canadians will have no problem with the cold weather but their team is WAY too big.....a lot of chances to come up short in that group.

What do you think?

A few more good blizzards and the midwest teams will be either frozen or grounded.

The Canadians will fight amongst themselves and then have a re-vote on their goals in a couple of weeks.

Strom? uh huh.
That must be some weird Wisconsin thing I don't know about, even though I was born there. Strom away, baby. We will STILL spank ya'll. Dude.

Florida may complain about the cold, lost goggles, comfy beds; The Midwest will get forzen in, Canada my fight amongst themselves, I predict a Noreaster for the "POOLtriots"  And well, -- there's the Carolinas...  Small but formidable.... but they will shrink to the HEAT put on them by the strong, mighty, committed TEAM UTAH!

Team Curmudgeons is not worried about any heat.......we've got the water to put out any flames you guys are throwing our way. I know our wake is big but if you can keep your breath we will pull you in to 2nd place.

Is it too late to join it? I guess this would be a good way to get me into the pool. If I can still participate, put me down for 5000 yards. What can I say? I am a WIMP!
