But seriously folks......I figured COJ was a better place to post this question than TT.

What products do you pool-swimmers use in your hair to negate the effects of chlorine burn to your scalp?  I've been spending a lot of time in the pool lately and plan on spending a lot more over the next few months.

Yea, my swimcaps keep out the water. Are you being sarcastic?

I think mine are the $10 silicone ones or something like that. Pretty soft, not like the cheap ones at races...$9.99 at my local sporting goods store (Dicks, Sports Authority, Oshmans, etc) I don't know what kind you have, but you get the idea.

I guess I just wanted to avoid looking like a pool dork

You mean to tell me no one besides Lara has any special haircare products they use?

Sorry, I'm mainly bald and the rest of my hair is about a quarter of an inch long. I use moisturizer. I highly recommend baldness, it's much easier than having hair.

Pool dork? Wearing a swim cap is like wearing bicycle shorts. It's normal. The swimmers without caps are dead giveaways as rookies. Also note that not all swim caps are equal. In particular, the logo on the swim cap earns you more/less respect points:

+5 Ironman Cap
+4 Half IM Cap
+3 Small Tri Race Cap
+2 Local Master's Team Cap
+1 Local High School Team Cap
+0 Manufacturers Logo Cap (Speedo/Tyr/etc)
-1 Solid Colored Cap, No Logo
-2 Cap Pimping a Local Tri Shop
-3 Cap Pimping a Local Gym
-4 Cap Pimping a Local Truckstop
-5 No Cap at all

So there you have it. You don't want -5 points do you? and this is just pertaining to caps, don't get me started with goggles or swim suits.

I use Keihl's swimmers shampoo. And I use a Kiehl's leave in moisturizing gel afterwards. And I have lovely locks and a scab free scalp.

I don't wear a swimcap! I loathe them, always have. I'm no rookie.

And I don't wear goggles in open water because I'm a water baby! Well, I wear them when I don't forget them anyway. Salt water. I don't swim in freshwater - that stuff's nasty.

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Milk shampoo, as well as the conditioner is all I use to keep my hair soft.

You're right, let me adjust the ratings:

+6 Bald with Ironman Tattoo on Scalp
+5 Ironman Cap
+4 Half IM Cap
+3 Small Tri Race Cap
+2 Local Master's Team Cap
+1 Local High School Team Cap
+0 Manufacturers Logo Cap (Speedo/Tyr/etc)
-1 Solid Colored Cap, No Logo
-2 Cap Pimping a Local Tri Shop
-3 Cap Pimping a Local Gym
-4 Cap Pimping a Local Truckstop
-5 No Cap at all
-6 Bald

That should do.
