Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() smokeater1833 - 2005-12-13 9:02 AM I get stress dreams all the time about work. I have reoccuring dreams of a kid crying in a fire and I can't get to them. I a crappy nightmare. You and me both. I guess it comes from working in public safety (fire/police). I don't even want to get into some of the dreams I have. It might give you all nightmares. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() KSlostStar - 2005-12-13 2:53 PM What does it mean when you don't remember your dreams? I rarely remember my dreams. I THINK (not sure) that if you sleep your way through the dream, you don't remember it. But, if you are awoken or come out of it somewhat halfway through, it is remembered more easily. I read that somewhere. That's why it is different for everyone...some must wake up more easily in the middle of the dream state. Personally, I rarely remember dreams, but if I do, it's the "forgot a class all semester" dream. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() No triathlon stress dreams yet, but I've had tons of Fencing stress dreams - being called for a bout and not able to find equipment, trying to repair stuff w/o tools, etc. I had these dreams long after I stopped competing. |

![]() | ![]() I hate those teeth-falling out dreams more than anything! It usually only happens for me when I am wearing my retainer at night or bleaching my teeth. I don't think it has anything to do with power for me, but just b/c I am a total freak about teeth. Recurring dreams...about a year ago, I had the same dream every night for about a month...I would get stabbed to death in my dream every single night. Really sucked; very strange. I was very happy when that dream stopped. Tri dreams...I always have one that my tire is flat and no one will help me. I check my tires a million times, but the back one is always flat and can't be fixed...I have never gotten a flat in a race ever, but think this might be b/c I am apparently impaired at fixing tires no matter how hard I try. On the dream note, I talk in my sleep a LOT! I will ask people questions and then get so mad when I realize I am talking in my sleep. Oh well, I guess it's better than when I used to sleep walk and leave the house... wow this thread makes it look like I have issues... ![]() |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() In college I used to have this dream that I had to cross the Grand Canyon on this cable that is about 6-12'' in diameter. I start out on top of the cable and start to shimmy accross, sort of like a crawl. Then I slip so that I'm hanging by my legs and hands under the cable. Then my feet slip so that I'm hanging by only my hands. Then I become very aware of how little there is under my feet. You know that feeling? Then my hands start to slip. Right at the point where I fall and my stomach jumps into my throat, I wake up. Very annoying. HD |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I used to talk in my sleep too. I mean, full on conversations in a regular talking voice. My husband would think I was talking to him, then realize that I was dreaming. I do sleep walk though. I've done this ever since childhood. Nothing too freaky, but often times I'll see the evidence in the kitchen in the morning. Nothing like a little midnight snack...excpet I'm asleep. I read somewhere that this is called night eating syndrome. Don't know if it's real or not...it's weird though. I have waken up in the middle of an episode. This usally happens after I've had my nightly glass of milk, which I do at the same time every night. I've got some pretty bizarre sleeping habits. And I never remember anything. |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I just get those crazy dreams that make absolutly no sense. So much in fact that you can't sleep because you keep waking up trying to figure it out, but can't. I've also had dreams in which I completed a normal day's worth of stuff and went to bed, so that when I actually wake up I'm 100% convinced that it is a full day later then it really is. I remember waking up, looking at the clock and seeing I had 5 min to get to class, only to get dressed and run across campus to find a completely different class in there. Was REALLY confused until I figured out it wasn't the right day. I never talk in my sleep, if I do I wake myself up. I have been known to wake up and wander through the house talking utter nonsense. Usually I get up because I need something, like a drink of water, or to go to the bathroom, but I always end up with mixed results. Like the time I woke up for a glass of water and couldn't figure out how to work the sink, so I gave up and went back to bed. Woke up the next morning to find the oven on.... That's not even the strangest one. |

Supersonicus Idioticus ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I was studying for my 2-week exam period early... that totals three weeks of exam study. By the end of it, I had exam nightmares EVERY NIGHT!!! I remember my last one was written in my old public school, which turned into a haunted house (pretty hard to write when ghosts are grabbing at you). And in contrast to the 'worst-case-scenario' post... something actually happened with my exam which questionned its validity. Oh, I had a triathlon dream last night. I was allowed to join the olympic tri 10k into the bike. I was holding up against the pros... until there was another transition... let's call it T(1.5), where you had to bobsled down some track. Afterwards, I couldn't find my shoes or shirt(?), so it took me 7 min in transition, and I lost my cool lead. Very upsetting, but I think it reflects real life where I'm out close to first off the swim, and lose my lead quickly. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Not sure if mine is stress relaed oir simply hunger related but I just think it's hilarous and has happened about once a year ever since I was 6. I dream that I am in bed, trying to fall asleep and all of a sudden, this huge, man size chocolate chip cookie appears next to my bed. Obviously such a site just makes you want to take a monster bite of it so in my dream I lean in and take a chomp at the cookie, then BAM....I wake up on floor because that "chomp" I took made me fall off the bed. I call it my big cookie dream. Try that one out for size Freud.... |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Not because of stress, but had a Tri nightmare last nite. For some reason I couldn't get from Point A to the starting area, at some point I realized I had 2 or 3 minutes and still had to go back to Point B to get something. I get to the start thinking I could go with the kiddie waves(?). Than realized that my wife and safety pinned my number on my Long Sleeve Cotton (why long sleeve cotton) shirt front to back. So I'm trying to put on my DeSoto T1 top over a Long Sleeve Cotton shirt. (Think about trying this) it's sheer horror. Than I realized I didn't have my T1 bib on . Luckly that's when I woke up. I remember in the dream saying I didn't need to race, I could just pack it in and leave, but for some reason I kept trying to continue on even if I was way behind the starters. Arrrrrgggg, I hate dreams like this. |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() i had my frist tri related dream last night.... I dreamt I showed up for the Xterra but had accidentally grabbed my road bike. So as I'm riding it's like I'm riding through quick sand and all of these guys on mountain bikes keep flying by me as if the ground were solid. |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() One particularly stressful dream of late: I dreamt that I quit work before the bonus money has been deposited in the bank account!! When I am stressed, I tend to dream that I am yelling and I am angry at something or somebody. Not good at all. No tri-related dream yet. |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This is odd, I had one the other night. I deamt that i was swimming - in a pool - during a race and I looked up for whatever reason and saw my 4 yr old son swimming also. The strange part is he can't swim. I felt torn between completing the race and rescuing him. I told him to swim beside the lane rope and to hold on it when he couldn't swim anymore and I tried to keep swimming to complete the race. The other odd part was my sisiter (aka bootygirl) was also racing and had completed the race - it must have been a reverse race because bootygirl was done and she was sitting in a chair watching me and her nephew - she didn't aqttempt to help him. I must be under some stress to let my 4yr old sink. |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ahem I obviously need to pay more attention to my little sister..... my husband talkes in his sleep, but in Dutch, so I don't know what he says..... I just had a dream I was going through my house looking for things to sell at a yard sale, not that I am having one. But the things I was finding were things from my teen years - a huge bottle of Jean Nate, wall hangings I had then..... |
