Hey guys and gals!

Craig here from Hatfield in Hertfordshire, (although I work near St Pauls in the City)

I'm hoping to do the Eton Super Sprints on May 19th, and have just registered to do a Sprint at the London Triathlon as part of the Survival International team.

Good to see loads of Brits on here, I just gave the email address to the guys at Triandrun in Hainault and they're gonna advertise the link in their shop, so we might pick up a few more too...

hi there

We used to live in Galley Common, I lived and was bought up in Nuneaton until I went to America in 1998, came back and moved to Coventry for a while before moving on again. My sister still lives in Stockingford but my mum and brother have also moved to different parts of the country now.

I'm 28yrs old and went to St Thomas More school - left in 1995.

How about you?

Hi again,

I'm 36, left etone in 87.Lived in birmingham for four years, and then London for another four.
Came back to the Midlands with a job and Nuneaton seemed the obvious choice at the time, although sometimes i wonder why?

This is my first year of Tri's, but it isn't going great so far. Since January i have been slowly falling apart.

already missed two i had booked in, Stratford in may and bosworth on July the 1st( i am at a wedding).

hopefully be fit for Rugby 26th august, and one of the warwick tri's in september.

Hi - well it will almost certainly be my first one!  I picked it purely because it looks like its pretty well geared for novices as well as those further along in the pack...

I looked at the Birmingham/NEC one which takes place about a month before (there's a super sprint/sprint/oly - all with a clean lake swim at the NEC) but it's really expensive and, as I'd probably have to hire a wet suit too...

Hi guys,

I've not been on in a while, but I thought I'd say hi! and ask whether anyone else on here took part in the ridiculously hot London Triathlon this last weekend.

I damaged my ankle around two months ago which really put the kibosh on my training, but as I'd committed to raising money for Survival International for this race I went ahead with it and completed my first ever Sprint distance triathlon on the saturday just gone!!!

It was the hardest thing I've ever done(the heat didn't help)! I would advise anyone that hasn't done a tri before to seriously consider swimming technique lessons, the Thames swim was the worst part of the race, and the only point that I contemplated that I might not finish...

I'm really pleased to have gotten to the end of the race, albeit in a ridiculously slow time (2:05:53)

But the good news is, I'm already planning my next race and more importantly my elevated training schedule...

Triathlons are great!!!

Not yet, but am gonna!

I'm going into serious training now, for the whole of the Autumn/Winter. My plan is to do my next Sprint distance at Blenheim in June (Unless I find another appropriate race in Spring) and keep up the training, Sprint again at London, and build up to an Oly for Brighton in September next year

This time around it was finishing at all, now I want to get my time down to a respectable level :D
