Subject: RE: First time training for a HIM When I was training for my first HIM last summer, I started dropping weight like crazy (and I did not have that much to lose ). I now eat five times a day and try to pack in the healthy calories. I still have to weigh myself twice a week because sometimes my food intake slips and I drop too much weight again.
Try eating more often and things with higher calories. Nutrition can be extremely complicated but I just go by trial and error. I take a bunch of snacks to work (cheese sticks, cliff bars, apples, oranges, nuts, yogurt, bananas, grapes ) and make sure I snack quite a bit. If I am still hungry, I will bring different snacks (or just more ).
If you are drinking a ton of water and are still thirsty, try a sports drink to replace some of your water.
If you need more detailed guidance, there are many people with a real grasp on nutrition (unlike my wing-it apporach ) and if you post on the main board, you will probably get a few more responses.
