I can put some Rodney Carrington comedy routines on my MP3 player if you think you might need the distraction in, oh, say the last 10 miles!

I'm finally excited. A few ounces (ok, maybe grams) lighter after my haircut.

Expo hours on Friday are 10a-8p. Think I'll run over there on my lunch hour tomorrow!

Is it anything like my haircut?

Oh - I hope there's not rain- I wouldn't know what to pack.

Do we have a master list of everyone running with their real life names? I knwo I'm going to be all confused - maybe I'll try to start one tonight.

Also - is there a place everyone is meeting on Sunday morning? In Haley's e-mail she mentioned the meeting place but I don't know it yet.

OK y'all, let's hear everyone's reaction!!!

I am super thrilled with the way it turned out.  Sure the weather at the start kinda sucked, but the race turned out to be beautiful, and by noon it was a gorgeous day out.  Save for the wind on Bayshore of course!

I had a super time meeting every one of you and I hope we all meet up again at another BT event!  Thanks for making my weekend great!!!

Well I had a great time and I didn't run. The OWS was fantastic and I got some great sun! Thanks for dinner Renee!!

The race...eh. Ok. The weather sucked for the Jockstrappers but it was great to see everyone and help you guys out.

Nice to meet you all!

Did anyone else notice that the races were fun, but all the real excitement was meeting the other BT-ers?  We should make this an annual event, it'd be a good excuse for me to take a winter vacation each year.  And after 5 or 6 more years, I might actually figure out the streets of Tampa.  At least I know how to get from the Courtyard Marriott to the race headquarters.

I had a great time. I may have to make this an annual event. Except for the Social Director part - I'll just be a happy participant letting someone else set my social activities schedule for me.

Oh, and without the shark in the water part too!!!

Are you serious? See, even if I had made it to the events on Saturday I wouldn't have been able to swim because of that. I've developed adult-onset shark-phobia. Inever cared before, but just recently I've been so paranoid - maybe from living in FL and hearing more about them. And Tampa's the worst - all the bull sharks - yikes!!

Amy, the good news is that we didn't know while we were in the water. Christine told me about the fin at dinner. So glad I didn't know about it until then!

me, possum and foolproof saw the fin. Twice.  It couldn't have been a dolphin because it stayed up on the surface a longer time, and it was in shallow water.   It was over on by the rocks where we posed, well away from where the BT folks were swimming/throwing mud/goofing off.

I did tell Jeff about it when he came out.  He tripped.

and ya'll wonder why I didn't go swimming.

It wouldn't bother taking a bite out of me...tough hide and too much gristle.  Now Comet's tender skin, maybe that's a different story!

Uh oh.

Well, we were goofing off and being loud, I don't think it would have wanted to bother us.

You know, that would have been one sorry shark if it had gone in for a bite. We would have had quite a fish fry on the beach after 8 triathletes finished pummelling it, dragging it onto the beach, and onto the rocks for our Swimsuit Edition poses. Yep, that shark dodged a tri-bullet on Saturday.
