Question...I just checked out the other thread and it mentioned a bridge. Is it the bike or run that takes you over the bridge?

This is a great first race. First for me, my wife, and 4 other friends who have been racing for 4 years. Great atmosphere for a race.

The bridge is on the bike. You cross it at the beginning of mile 3 and then on the way back at mile 13. The climb in both directions is about one third of a mile. I don't know the grade but its not too bad.

Brandy,

Its really strange but you posted a picture of my wife. She is the second lady in the first pictures (black shorts, blue shirt, red and white giant). Too funny!

Anybody with questions about the race or the area feel free to ask me. Have done the race 4 times and I now live a mile and half from the starting line and ride the course 3 times a week.

Ken

That is neat!

Jessica - did you sign up for the first timers division? what is your AG? I signed up in the first timers - my AG is 20-24, they are going to have me in both categories

Brandy -

I signed up as a first timer, too but my age group is 30-34. How's your training going? I really need to buckle down a little more!

Thanks for the encouragement from all. I'm excited but still nervous!

Jessica

No, at least it wasn't last year.  Still a great race.  I raced super clydes last year, I was mad, I had a terrible bike and was only 3 minutes off the third place finisher.  That mug should have been mine, dammit.

Lots of fun... I even found the pic... I can't imagine why I didn't by a blown up copy.  I'm just glad they didn't snap the pic 15 seconds earlier when I was flailing around in the surf trying to get the wetsuit off.

I did this as my first ever tri last year.  Its a great race for a first tri.  Challenging but not overly.  Not sure if the swim will be in the ocean or the river this year.  Last year was the ocean because fo crap in the river from the hurricanes.  The hill is during the bike and it not to bad going out, but is short and steep coming back in.  Otherwise nice and flat.

Would anybody be interested in sharing a hotel room.  I would love to do it again this year but can't afford the drive and hotel by myself on a poor college student salary!
