Comments: Plan was to go easy for the first two and finish well. My chest cold is still bugging me and I didnt want to start wheezing like I did the day previous. The plan was going well until I totally bent my ankle in half. I spent 10 seconds swearing and hopping on one foot. Since I didnt know the course I didnt know where to hobble to. I just started running again. This course is very vicious with some long steep stair ascents.The last .75 miles is very challenging. I was initially disappointed in my time as I had aimed for a 7:30-8:00 pace but I found out the course is actually 5.35 miles according to the race director which put me at 8:00 pace. Considering the terrain and the ankle it was a good effort. What would you do differently?: Not sprain my ankle. I prefer to run trails when I train. I think when I race trails I can sometimes lose focus on the trails and then get hurt. Post race
