Run
Comments: Was looking to do this run just as a training run since I'd just PR'ed 2 weeks ago on my 10k. Plan was to run the 4 miles back to the car after the race. Took off with 2 running friends. It was hard to get out of the pack for the first mile or so. I managed to stay with both of them until the mile 1 marker when one of them took off. I passed my other friend and managed to keep around a 7:30 minute mile pace for most of the time. My legs were sore and I was anxious about how I would finish. Managed to catch "speedy" friend at the end and actually finished one second before him. Life is tough. :) Time was not a PR. About 30 seconds off. Good run though and fun to do with friends. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and drank water. Talked to Brett (rocketman) a little more. Hung out in the lines for the buses to take us back to the start (Heh - after a fast 10k like that, we weren't even thinking about running those extra 4 miles back). What limited your ability to perform faster: It was extremely humid and getting fairly warm. Spring is here and summer can't be too far away Event comments: Fast course. Crowded start which I hate. I really wish that 10k's here in Georgia were taken a little more seriously and were chipped races. Hard to get an accurate time when you spend a miles trying to work your way around everyone. Overall, good run and time yesterday. Plus - I managed to beat the boyz I wanted to beat. :) Last updated: 2006-03-11 12:00 AM

Woke up at 6:30 and headed down to the start of the race to register. Met up with some running friends and other BTer's that I didn't know would be out there. Was a wonderful day outside (already at 7:00) and so standing around before the start of the race wasn't so bad.
No real warmup. Ate half a marathon bar 30 minutes before the start of the race and took a gel and some water about 10 minutes before the start. Headed to the start line and lined up in the middle of the pack.
