Hey kids, has anyone heard what the actual distance is?  Last year (and in this years glossy race lit) it was a 10 mile bike and a 3 mile run, not the 6/2 listed on this site.

Not that it matters, but I'm just curious.

I don't know about distances, but are you definitely doing it? I'm not (scared of the ocean in my own backyard ), but my husband is thinking of it. Of course he hasn't run, biked or swam (swum?) in months so if he does do it he'll be hurting. Either way I'll do my best to wake up and come cheer you on!!! We'll have to talk as the date gets closer so I'll know who you are.

well I'm glad I didn't pay the money....my husband finally gave me the heads up that we WILL be going to Jacksonville that weekend for BMX...it's a tough call (not really - as much as I wanna do FAU, I also REALLY have fun watching my son race)...but it looks like I'll be passing on it this year.

I would like to do this- but I've heard there are man o war in the area...i'm afraid! But I'm about 70% sure I'm going to do it. I might get a wetsuit and this race would give me some good practice before St. A.

me and my dad are going to relay this race. I did it last year with my friend but she is doing it by herself this year. I haven't been training enough to do the whole race myself, plus i'm just gettin over a really bad chest cold. plus it will be fun to do it with my dad.

I swam with a group last week and we didn't see any man o'war, or is it men'o war. Hope to see you. Sharon is racing and I am coaching some TNT people so I can't race it. More medals for the rest of you.

C'mon kids, if the home town team can't rock for the home town team ...

Anyhoo .... race packet pickup is tomorrow at FAU pool.   I'm going to shoot to be there early morning on Sunday.  Andante might have a bike fix tent set up, if so I'm gonna hang there.  Otherwise, I think some the Hammerheads are coming to haul my lifeless body watch me swim/bike/run.  I'll give you an update tomorrow.

How much fun is this! Laughing  trying to convince myself, trying to convince myself ...
