well, i think i'm finally getting back into the swing of things. i had to take a break from some of my training after i had my 15 stitches in vegas. i'm usually pretty good at ignoring doctor's orders (probably comes from having an md for a father, got quite good at ignoring advice), but not so much this time.

this time, almost as soon as i was back home, i felt really demoralized. i was a major lump for a couple weeks. i was already taking a break from laps in order to focus on TI. then i was told no biking or yoga for 2 months while my injury healed. i could still run...but i enjoy it the absolute least of the three. the joy of training evaporated before my eyes.

anyway, i had my stitches out last week. i've been running 4 times since, swimming twice, camping and hiking...and bah, i've also been riding a few times and went to yoga last night. my wound didn't reopen, so i can stop worrying about that. running is feeling good again, biking has felt great (even biking in the rain this morning), and i'm finally getting past drills and into actual laps with the TI stuff. woo hoo!

after feeling so down missing nearly a month of full on training after having been so good for so long, i'm feeling really happy that i've managed to find the old boot straps. to celebrate, i'm going to go sign up for a couple 5-10k races.

ps. and my oldest turned 3 today!

Good to see you back in action!  Once you get back into it again, there will be no stopping you!

You will do just fine Autumn -- you have a good base, and now you are back into the full scope of things. Heal well -- and it sounds like you are doing just that -- and take care of the body. Welcome back to training.
