Pre-race routine:

Up early, cleaned house, got the boys up. Dropped the boys off at Mamma and Daddy's for the day. Then bear and I were off to Sulphur
Event warmup:

Rode around the parking lot a couple of times. Talked to some people. Bob invited me to ride along with him, we ride about the same pace. This worked out well and Bob talks more than me.

Comments:

Rode with Bob most of the race. At one point I saw a big snake, half dead and still wiggling a little too close for comfort. I almost fell into Bob. UGH, I hate snakes. Harold was stopped along the road and later caught up with us and rode the rest of the way with us. It was very windy. Bear checked on us often. The sag car rode in front of us a while to stop the wind. Stopped at the sag a couple of minutes and then had about 5 minutes with no wind. We had great speed at this time. Then the wind retuned. AHHHH! We weren't the last group in so I was happy. Also went meet Harold's girlfriend at the end, her name was Angel too-Go Figure!

What would you do differently?:

Train more and do the 62 mile ride.
Post race
Warm down:

Checked in at the sign up table, ate brownies, and bathroom stop. Went talk to other riders while waiting for Bear to come meet us.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training, training, training.

Riding Lots!!!

Event comments:

I had a blast. It was great to be riding again. I enjoyed myself.

Thanks bear for all of the support and being a great husband. Love Ya!
