Extreme Veteran  307  Madison, WI |  Subject: Best Running MusicI know the ipod-shuffle era has gotten people away from the practice of listening to entire albums...but I'm a purist...I stick with an album for a run. And I like something a little upbeat. Yesterday it was Weezer's "make believe" Favorites over the past couple of weeks include: The stroke's "first impressions of earth" (they're my guilty pleasure) Bloc Party's "Silent Alarm" Amadou et Mariam's "dimanche a bamako" Anybody got some good ones? |

Pro 5153 Helena, MT | Subject: RE: Best Running Music I've got one song from that Amadou and Mariam album (Senegal Fast Food) and love it. Is the whole album that good? I wasn't really sure if I'd like the whole album... I like Talking Heads "Remain in Light" for upbeat treadmill music. |

How can you hear if someone is heading toward you in a speeding automobile, or if they're drunk or something? Luckily, I run on a dirt path where the only thing I've got to worry about running into me are the other runners that are cruising by me...oh, and I run in a large inflatable plastic bubble so I'm pretty much invincible. And Kim...yes the Amadou et Mariam album is great all the way through. Most of the songs aren't as lively as "senagal fast food" but they are all really good. I recommend it. |

I do usually stick to the same band for a run, but I'll make up a best of their music ahead of time. |
