Welcome and good luck in your race. Doing a race at Maui is nice!

Good luck Joanna. No real advice here either except -- do your own race. You've trained for it, now just do what you have trained for. And enjoy your first tri --savor everything about it. It is the last first tri you get to do!

Joanna, that's just awesome! I can only dream of going to Maui! I'm certain you're going to have a blast there, and have an awesome race! I hope you'll share your experiences with us once you get back! Incidentally, how long have you been in Dayton, OH? I lived there from 1992 until about 1999.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to have found this website. I'm not sure if I'm using this right, but I hope someone gets this! :-) :-) I just began training for my first triathlon this week! I've already run in two marathons, but this tri thing is much more of a challenge already. I have noticed that I've been having a small problem getting used to getting out of the water and keeping my balance (I get a little motion sick). I'll be running in the Island Lake of Novi triathlon in Novi, Michigan. I'll be traveling from Maryland though. Has anyone ever had to ship a bike? I was thinking about merely renting one when I get there, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks for letting me join the group. I look forward to talking and hearing more!
