stayed with my sister in Cary. Arrived at site around 6:30 a.m. and got numbered and set up

jogged for 20 minutes, stretched and ate cliff bar. drank water during warmup

during and after this run I thought I was around 9 min miles, so I was going faster than I thought. Hard time staying cool.
What would you do differently?:

try to pick up my cadence a little more.

Warm down:

light stretching and light eating. Had to leave to get back for boys' soccer games

What limited your ability to perform faster:

leg strength for biking and second run

Event comments:

I did this race as a training brick because of the hills. For me it was a good race despite my ranking among the competitors. I attribute that to the high quality of athletes in this race. I am still amazed at my splits.
