Subject: Frog Removal - Please Help

Remember the episode of Lost where the little frog was making all of that noise and driving Sawyer crazy? Well, that is me. Some damn frog has camped out in the trees between my house and the neighbors. It is maybe 15 yards from my bedroom window.

And it is unbelievably noisy. It doesn't "ribbit" like other frogs. It makes this very, very, very loud PEEP noise. From about 7pm till 5am. Over and over and over. I am a light sleeper and this damn thing wakes me up all night long. I do not know how to adequately express just how loud this peeping noise is.

I tried to find the thing last night before it got dark, but it is like finding a needle in a haystack. It is well hidden in the trees, shrubs, leaves, etc.

Why aren't any larger animals trying to eat this thing? There are a couple of owls that live in the woods behind me that I keep hoping will find this thing and snack on it.

Are there frog traps? I am ready to set fire to the area where this frog is hiding. But, my neighbors might take issue with that.

Bill

P.S. I have another story about a noisy mockingbird that sat in a tree by our bedroom window at night that perfectly mimicked a car alarm. I am sure that there are still people in that neighborhood wondering why I was throwing anything I could get my hands on into a tree in the middle of the night.

It's a little extreme, but you could eliminate it's habitat by cutting down the tree.

Or do like aquaman said in the "bees" thread: diesel bomb and a match!

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning!"

I might be willing to help with that. Assuming that all the necessary "supplies" are bought in someone else's name. And there is plausible deniability of my involvement. The frogs are already watching me.........crafty bunch they are. I suspect this frog problem of yours is merely a PsyOps campaign, and just the start of a bigger strike that's coming.....When will people wake up and realize we are in a fight for the very survival of our species here?!?! The forest creatures have our number!!!!

Soon you'll be so exhausted that you'll sleep right through the night. Then the frog will probalby find a new home.

Hey, my stick idea would work with this problem. This would be an awesome excuse to buy some forth gen Night vision goggles!!!! Get out there and just start wacking the crap out of the tree, you'll hit the frog eventually.

Sorry I'm late getting here.
My advice. Deisel fuel and a match. Just watch out the Flaming death frog doesn't hop into your house and burn down your domicile.

What about calling a pest control service and checking to see if they have anything that would "deter" this creature from camping out near your house???  Only other idea is to find it and kill it.  Or if you have a cat, maybe it could go on a hunt for it.

No, no, no....to catch this little sucker, you must become him.  You can get a tree-frog costume on Ebay (don't ask me how I know) and pretend to be one of him....sneak up and reply to him using the same loud PEEP.  He will come to you and then you can squash him....please video tape for our enjoyment as a training tool.

Haven't you learned that you're not supposed to post USEFUL thing here?!?! Only silly, wild, or extremely illegal ones!

I concur!! DIESEL FUEL! Oooo.....or dynamite! If you want, I'll give you the calculations to blow the tree about 20 ft. into the air. That'd be cool!!!!!!!!

You own a cat? If so, let your cat outside. It'll rip the *** end out of that frog with a quickness. It's commonly known that cats and frogs are mortal enemies.

Ah, I see someone allready advised you of the cat. I'll retreat back to my corner now and continue polishing my shotgun in the dark with my Jack Daniels nearby.

I like the suggestions involving fire, but think it could be a problem with wife, neighbors, police, etc. No cat, but there are plenty in the neighborhood. My dog seems uninterested.

Stake, I live in Fairfax, VA. I should update my profile. I am less than a mile from the Beltway, but actually have trees!

Start sleeping with ear plugs and/or get a white noise machine, and stop thinking about killing something because it inconveniences you, you big meanie.  Believe me, if you make it your life's work to snuff out this one frog, the karma gods will kick you in the ass.  There will be a swarm of something the likes of which you've never seen, I'm sure.

If you didn't destroy his house with your house you might not have this problem.
Go hug a tree and tell all the little creatures you are sorry for destroying thier world.
God loves that frog just like he loves you.
Maybe you should learn to live in harmony with all of gods creatures.
Or you could get some M80's and a sling shot and fire them in his direction.
Wrap the M80's in pins it will act like shrapnel.

You got to feel for the little dude.  It's spring and he's looking for the froggy equivalent of a date to the prom.   Go to the pet store and buy him a friend.

Does he look like this? If he does, you may be in trouble. Don't try to make money off him on Broadway.
