Overall Rank = 230/1319

Pre-race routine:

Got up, ate some oatmeal and egg whites and left for the race about 1 hr 15 mins prior. My fiance came with me for moral support. Other than having trouble finding parking, everything was good. I had a Accelgel w/Caffeine 12 mins prior to race start.
Event warmup:

I jogged across a few intersections. No stretching at all. I probably should have at least warmed up but I was too lazy.
Run

Comments:

Very happy with my run, even though I went out too fast. The first mile I felt strong, though my legs were burning a bit for some reason. I probably should have warmed up, but I hate warming up :)

Mile 2 I probably pushed too hard. I had alot of trouble with my race belt and my number bothering me because it was flapping around. THere must be a better way to deal with the number.

This is my first road 10k in 14 years.... My conservative goal time was sub-50 and very happy goal was sub 47:30. So I was quite pleasantly surprised with a 45:29.
What would you do differently?:

Warm-up and maybe start a bit slower
Post race
Warm down:

None. Though our car was parked maybe 2 miles away so a nice long walk. I drank one scoop of endurox that I brought with me immediately after and then ate a small Krispy Creme.. :) On the way home we stopped at Whole Foods in Arlington and I got a 16 ounce Jamba Juice.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I went out to fast. I was passing a bunch of people in miles 1-2 that passed me again around mile 5.

Event comments:

Probably should have stayed around for the ceremony afterwards.

Nice job! Re: race #...don't use the holes to pin it, pin it so the belt is in the middle of the number and go through the number and the belt 2x with each pin. See pic (me).
