Subject: Rocky Raccoon 50 Mile : Official Thread

I saw on their website that the Rocky Racoon is full up.  Does anyone know when this race usually sells out? I'd like to try it next year since i can't this year now.

In 2009 I signed up on a whim 2 weeks before the race (didn't even get a shirt). The last 3 races have sold out ~2 months ahead and even after they increased the number of slots. For the 2011 race they opened a waiting list and a number of folks made it in.

The last 2 years has seen an explosion of interest in ultras all over the place and nowadays you have to commit to a race really early.

Maybe i'll send an email and see if they will have a waiting list this year.  So, if doing ultra's and other big endurance events is now 'the norm', what does one have to do to seem crazy??  Because, I'm all about the crazy factor.

Holy shitake!  ok, i bow to you Sir.  you are much crazier than I.  -42 deg F??  WOW.  stunned.

Back to "normal" ultras.  ok, i emailed Joe from Tejas Trails and got put on the waitlist, so i may still get to run this.  If anyone else is interested, go to the Rocky Racoon website or Tejas Trails website and email Joe.
