jillian_o - 2012-04-25 5:09 AM So, is anyone going to sign up for next year's race for $150? I am already in for Muncie and Augsuta so I won't be able to get that $50 off

My BF and I are tempted....we had fun, in spite of the issues. At least we have a few days to make the decision.

The $50 off prob isn't going to work for me for other races due to my work and other race schedule, though Augusta looks tempting. Have you done that one before?

I did Muncie as my first HIM last year and it was simply awesome, so doing it again this year. I have never done Augusta, but its only a 3 hour drive, and I think a wetsuit swim would be nice, so I went ahead and signed up

Yeah, the $150 is very tempting.  Also looks like I will be in Austin the same time as the 70.3.  My only issue is that I have an Oly the week before and I want to do well at and will be training for a Oly distance, not a 70.3  May look to use the $50 as part of a relay team.  Swimming and biking I will be there, running not so much.

Hope you decide to do Augusta, so our paths can cross again

Will be quite a race, our 7 year wedding anniversary is the same day as Augusta 70.3, since training and racing has become such a big part of our relationship, its a good thing

unfortunatly I was not a lucky one. I totally ate it on the bike. Front wheel got stuck between a crack in the cement and I went airborne at 22mph. Messed up my shoulder knee forarm and hip with a lot of road rash. Lucky no broken bones. I did bash my head pretty hard on the cement but lucky the helmet took most of the force, enough to crack it. I was able to finish the race though..... The worst part is that it was 0.5mile from the bike finish. I lost about 4 minutes but still finished bike in 2:29.
