Pre-race routine:

Drove to the race site, paid registration fee, walked around, met Jess and the kids at the start line. Met up with Terri, Kim, and Ben. Got ready to start and took my position as close to the front as I could get.

Comments:

VERY LARGE race. 935 people altogether. I tried to get right up front, but there were so many people that I just couldn't. I counted 10 seconds before I reached the starting mat.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Great run.

Post race

Warm down:

Drank too much water at the finish. Wound up rejecting it. But once that was over I had a couple cookies, some Vitamin Water, and I walked around a bit. Tummy felt fine after that, so Terri, Jess, and I went to the Brunchery and had eggs and hash browns. YUM!! Then to Pane Rustica for cookies and milk. Hehe...yup, cookies and milk...I'm 9 years old. LOL

What limited your ability to perform faster:

People in front of me.

This is one not to miss every year. So many sponsors, so much free food, you could take some home and eat for the rest of the day afterwards.

Great Job Jeff. Wish I could have been there. I have the desire to run, just wasn't a way to fit it in today. Looks like a pre-sunrise run for me tomorrow. Keep up the great work. Just realized that 5/20 is Nat'l Armed Forces Day, hoping to bring my father -in- law to the 5K (retired ARMY). Looking forward to it. Need to fulfill my addiction for racing.
