Comments: Blister pain in left foot at mile 8, then on right foot at mile 10. Kept my pace strong at ^Z3 154bpm that whole distance. I thought that was 8:36/mile. Ate my gels at mile 5 and 10. I brought on the pain for a 5K pace as I passed the 10mile marker and held sub-LT (158bpm) but when I got passed 12 miles (160bpm LT) the blister pain was so bad I had to hold back and bring my HR down to 155. Held that until 400m left and I blasted through passing 5 racers along the way. HR got up to 176! Woot! Overall, I'm pretty happy about my performance. This one racer asked me to pace him at the beginning of the race and I did but he kept on talking to me! I kinda wish he didn't so I can focus more on my race. What would you do differently?: Tell the next racer who asks me to pace him that it's fine but let's keep the talking to a minimum. Gotta figure out a way to resolve my blister problems. I've been getting them in all my races so far except the sprint triathlon 5Ks. I'm thinking getting size 10 instead of 10.5. My regular shoe size is 9.5 and I wear arch supports in those. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for 10 minutes, took pictures, stretched, and ate food. Food trucks were mean and did not let me use my food ticket to get a breakfast burrito. BOOOO!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Blisters and racer who kept talking to me. Event comments: Great race! I'm gonna race again next year. =) Last updated: 2011-09-02 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5am. Ate Clif Bar, banana, and apple sauce. Drank small whey protein drink. Got to race site at 6:10am. Had to take a dump before warming up. ^_^
Warmed up with dynamic movements routine, walked and jogged for about 5 minutes before seeding myself.
