Kettle Bells are a great form of training.  Got introduced to them doing circuit training at local Krav Maga centre.

I use a 35lb kettle bell as part of a larger training routine. There are lots of
good exercises and routines out there.... If you can add a kettlebell routine
to your work outs, you will definitely get some great results.  Always depends on the core, and work a lot of the tiny muscles that don't get isolate with free weights...

A great kettle bell routine, that I kinda like:

1)Get a
full deck of cards. Take any 4 exercises and allocate a suit to each
one.
Clubs: One Arm Swing
Diamonds: One Arm Snatch
Hearts: Turkish Get Up
Spades: Figure 8 to hold.

2)shuffle your cards. pick the top.
Whatever the suit do that exercise. Whatever the number, do that many on each
side. Jokers and aces are 11.

3)max 15 sec. rest between each card. (shorten or lengthen the time between each exercise
as you need for a challenge.)

4)Start with 10 cards, work your way up until you can do the entire deck.
Mix up the exercises to get a variety on different days.

Just anted to add that I love KB's. We've had a certified (also a PT) instructor working with us at our gym (Tri specific) since Dec. I'm just now feeling competent with them and we're excited to introduce them as a workout. We've had TRX for the last two years and love it, but wanted to supplement with some weight training for those looking for it. Gotta say I have been virtually injury-free and have an incredibly strong core since doing TRX, but feel overall strong since incorperating KB's. Also, forget isolating, you're obviously missing the point then.

I've been trying one lately with KB's that goes something like:

10 Exercises

Circuit is each exercise 1 min work, 15 seconds rest.

Complete Circuit then take 2 min rest.

Complete CIrcuit 3 times.

All of the exercises are whole of body type activities  that work everything including the core while keeping my heart rate high.  It damn near kills me but it's doing wonders for my strength and endurance.

I've been doing kettlebells with a RKC coach Chris Reynolds in Bloomington, Il., since Jan. 1.  I've gotten much stronger and lost 22 pounds on Paleo at the same time.  These are the fountain of youth.  I'm 60 and loving it.  Wish I had found K bells the winter before IM 2011 in Wis. But I've got them now.  Run times are far better, bike is strong and much smoother in the pool.  Strength exercises are indeed overlooked by most people and if they would try kettlebells, I think that would change for many of them.  They are effective, efficient and FUN.

oh ok. i have seen people doing these at the gym, never knew what that was called

i will have to give it a try, thanks!

They are more commonly called inverted rows.  Some people call them body weight rows.

I have a 40 and 55 KB which I use along with pull ups and burpees for my resistance training.  Being a former powerlifter I can say that KB workouts are probably the most complete training system I have used as far as weight training.  I have preserved much of my strength while increasing mobility and flexibilty with the KB.
