Comments: I went out fast, once the crowd thinned out. I averaged an 8 min. pace until mile 7 or 8. I consumed 2 gels at miles 5 and 10 along with water and gator aid 3 times. What would you do differently?: I think I would bring along three gels and consume them at miles 4,8 and 12. I really started running out of energy at mile 12. I also think I need to drink more. It took me three hours afterwards to pee. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. This was a PR! Last updated: 2006-04-20 12:00 AM

Woke up at 0415. Ate 2 pieces of toast with peanut buuter and a glass of water. Once I drove an hour to the race site, I drank MDX and had a peanut butter cookie. I was on a sugar high until mile seven!
Basic stretching.
