Comments: Basically I just put my head down and tried to go as fast as I could. My legs were tired but my lungs felt fine. Maybe the ride the day before took some strength from me? We started in 30 second intervals. Umm what else??? I don't know. I wasn't really breathing too hard at the end but like I said my legs were just dead. I think I went about as hard as I could. The winds were very, very strong but that's Wyoming. I got passed by two other guys. The winner was like around 16 minutes. Pretty fast! What would you do differently?: Not much. I think any improvement are dependant on training and things like that. Don't know what else I could do that would've made much difference. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Rode back to the car and drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Really nothing but my own shortcomings as a cyclist. I see the possibility for improvement and I'm excited to get to work on it. I think I need to drop a few pounds. At 196 I seemed to be the heaviest dude there. This seems like a really good group. Serious cyclist. Hopefully they will help me to improve. Event comments: This was, again, just a club meet sort of thing. It was fun and can't wait till next week. Last updated: 2006-05-09 12:00 AM

Showed up early. Hung out with the club director. We talked a bit about tris and cycling. I'm notoriously early for everything so we had a bit of time. Then I unloaded my boy Tank (Trek 100). Attached the front tire and stood there in the rain.
This was my first TT so I didn't really know what to do. It turned out the warm up was us riding from the finish line to the start. So 7.7 miles of warmup riding. It was cold, windy, and raining. This isn't really a huge race or anything. It's just the folks in the cycling club getting an idea of what they can do.
