Total Time = 1h 38m
Overall Rank = 81/113
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 0/
Pre-race routine:

1/2 Baker's Breakfast Cookie and coffee. Drank water on the way to the park. Signed in for race, got my #, set up my bike and transition area.
Event warmup:

Squeezed into my wetsuit. (that warmed me up :) )Too confused to do a warm up. This was my first Tri, didn't know what to expect.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 750 meters
  • / 100 meters
Comments:

Not sure of the time breakdown for my swim, T1, and bike do to the race volunteers forgetting to turn the timing units on until we were already out on the bike. (oops, I guess it happens) I was kicked in the mouth by some guy who I think was panicking, because he turned over to float and when he kicked his feet he kicked me right in the mouth (I was looking up at the time to see where I was going) I think he said sorry, but I was to busy trying to catch up with my wave.
What would you do differently?:

PUT MY GOOGLES ON BEFORE I DIVE IN!! dumby me, I was so nervous and scatter brained that I didn't realize I hadn't pulled my goggles down over my eyes. I got my goggles on, finally, but it took me some time to catch my breath and relax so I could actually swim. The first 100-200 yards were brutal.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I dont have clipsless pedals yet so I put on my socks and running shoes and headed out on the bike; trying to make up time from the swim ( which I know I was slow - I was the last on in my wave out of the water.)
What would you do differently?:

I thought I did pretty good for my very first transition from the water to the bike.
Bike
  • 00m
  • 12.4 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr
Comments:

Time for swim, T1, and bike was 1:10:10.42
What would you do differently?:

I could have pushed harder on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m 46s
Comments:

I was doing pretty good on time. I stopped for a moment to suck down some Gatorade. ( I didn't drink enough on the bike)
Run
  • 27m 3s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Pretty good run. After doing duathlons last year I felt 100% better on the last run this time. Using my arms for the first part of the race is much better.
What would you do differently?:

Pick up the pace. I was holding back a little I think. This was my first Tri and I wasn't sure how much to exert myself and have enough energy to finish.
Post race
Warm down:

Got a drink of some infinite nutrition, walked around, and stretched.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Myself, I was holding back some.

Event comments:

I came in 1st place in my age group. There was only one other girl in my group, and she finished 3 seconds behind me. This was a pretty good race for my first Tri. Now that I know what to expect...its off to my next one.;)

Good race...I keep learning something new at each race...My first tri earlier this year was a backwards tri (swim was last) and I totally forgot my goggles and couldnt see athing...kept running into the wall in the pool....
