I'm actually surprised it took 6 days to sell out. 

The market for a fast flat megamarathon with favorable weather (ok discounting that freak 90F year) is massive now.

Too bad most people in that race walk most of it =(

Why is that "too bad" with a sad face? Why would that possibly matter?

My bad - that comment came off as too elitist. I'm ok with walking the marathon, as I've done it myself for large sections. 

 

Made that comment more because I suspect the few minutes/seconds gained on a favorable course might matter more to someone running at a brisk pace (say, BQ pace or close to it) than a typical 5+hr runwalker who may not miss those 3-5 minutes quite as much. 

 

But I'm all for folks doing the marathon at all speeds - it's great stuff.
