Grand Rapids Triathlon - Half Iron Course : Official Thread (Page 4)

Hoping for a 5:45 and got 5:51.  Not too bad considering how dang hot it was.  The race itself was great.

Great course...anyone who thought those road conditions (chipseal) was annoying at any point is really spoiled with great roads!  I had a flat at the far aid station (almost the half way point).  Run was hot!  Given the heat and my last tri with a rough swim, at no point did I push myself...this was definitely "in it to finish" rather than racing mode and I paced myself very conservatively.  So I did finish and managed to walk just the aid stations and this one big hill on the run course (twice).  Got my medal and sticker for the back of my car...have not a thing to complain about!
