Run
Comments: Man, fast run field. I tried to position well for entry into the woods, but didn't get clear of folks I needed to before the first bottlenecks. Not a big deal. What would you do differently?: Maybe not as hard on the outbound, cause I was pretty gassed on the return. Transition 1
Comments: Better than plan, in out gone. What would you do differently?: Not too much, this was pretty good. 24th fastest overall, 4th AG. Bike
Comments: Got out of TA good, but first female was hot on my trail, and passed me pretty soon. Then more kept coming. I think at least 10 passed me on the bike...:( What would you do differently?: Stronger bike!!! Transition 2
Comments: I had trouble mentally getting biking shoes off and running shoes on. Seriously had to work on focusing on what came next. It was surreal, and not expected. I will be working on T2 in coming weeks. 73rd overall, 7th AG. Man, this was awful. What would you do differently?: See above. Run
Comments: Pickin' off the cyclists that rode past me. Pleased with a 1AG run2. Overall winner went even run 1 to run 2. What would you do differently?: Run harder. I had too much gas in the tank at the end. Post race
Warm down: Went back to bike in and cheered on other racers for 10-15 minutes, then went in to break down transition. Packed it all up, then went to hang out at race finish and cheer in other racers. Slice of pizza, a mini-bagel and PB, and a banana (why was I so hungry???). Results went up, saw I was 3AG, so hung around :) Cheered in last finisher, then awards started. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bike. Bike. Bike. Need more speed. Event comments: Fun race. Looking forward to Greenville in March. Last updated: 2012-01-03 12:00 AM

Awoke at 4am, out the door at 4:50. Pit stop in Rockingham to take a leak. Pit stop in Monroe for stop "#2". At race site by 7:50. Got bib and packet, and proceeded to unload to transition. Beautiful morning, but chilly.
Once I got TA set up, I went for a short leg-stretch ride, 5 minutes out and 5 back. Then a very short run (3ish minutes out, 3 back with a few strides to get the legs moving. Total warmup time 16 minutes or so.
