It was a toss up between this and Orangeman but with the great deal on Schwaggle it was decided for me.

I'm in!

Nice James! Mitch and I were also tossing around the idea of doing Orangeman but Superfrog won out! I haven't registered yet so if you have the Schwaggle ad I would love to see it!!

I'm also deciding upon SuperFrog or Orangeman. I've heard not so good things about the water quality for Orangeman....Doheny State Beach. Usually the worst in OC. Thoughts or comments?

I asked Jay (tribodyboarder) as he lives down there and heard the same thing.  He said summer /early fall readings are usually good, it's usually only bad in winters....  this site seems to bear that out for September although 2011 was half and half....

I think the Schwaggle is already sold out.  I randomly saw it under the San Diego area Schwaggle.

Hi all!  This is a great race- did it last year, had a blast!  I did IMSG back in May so I've been chilling out pretty hard and recovering from a load of early year training but I'm ready to get back to business.  Would love to improve on my time last year but truly am in this to enjoy the training!!  I've got a couple of buddies that will be racing this for the first time so this will be a cool road trip.  IMSG was mad easier by having like minds post on this thread occasionally so hopefully we can help push and pull each other through this summer.

Course maps were released the other day on their FB page.  I haven't done this race previously but someone said both the bike and run have been changed.  I think in previous years it was around 6 miles of sand running, this year looks like 4.

I did this race back in 2005- the sand was a butt kicker The bike was almost totally flat- but the headwinds were kickin. The swim out through the surf was fun, especially on the way in- bodysurfing. One tip- don't ride the bike course with your front brake locked up at 50 percent... That really hurts your time and pride!
