Retirement party for my swimming suit - 3 years!

Expert  1202   Montana |  Subject: Retirement party for my swimming suit - 3 years!For the first three years that I swam, I was buying a new suit every 2 - 3 months. That gets a little hard on the pocket book. Finally I invested in a 100% polyester suit and the only reason I am buying a new one is that I'm bored of the old one. It is a TYR alliance polyester splice. Thinking about some appropriate retirement ritual for it. Are other brands of polyester suits as good? |

I had to retire a pair of polyester jammers last fall. The material was fine, but the stitching failed and by the end of a swim, the butt seam had split about 4"... |

I bought two pairs of Aevero tri shorts that I swam in for a couple of years.. I really found it hard to throw them out.. even thought they were totally gone. |

We are going through suits left and right for our kids, they swim 4-5x per week. We have been buying the extended swim wear versions. Haven't looked at the material type though, not that they could wear a suit more than 1 year anyway with the growth spurts. |

I've had the same one for three years and it's still going strong - though I do occasionally alternate with another store brand suit I have. And my daughter basically outgrows hers before any problems show up. Whereas with other brands the butt would get worn out or the seams would give before she outgrew the suit. |

You just had to make sure the holes / see through sections didn't all line up through all the layers! |
