Master 1978 Chelmsford, Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon Me either, but packet pickup is between 2 and 6 so whaddaya say we all meet up somewhere near that, this way it's a place we know. I plan on getting into town between 2 and 3 so if we meet up at packet pickup at 430 then that's plenty of time. Yeah 13 miles sounds good. |

Buttercup 14334 | Subject: RE: Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon Renee - 2006-06-30 10:37 PM Christine (Lucy) and I had talked about doing this one together. Depends on where I'm living at that time, tho'. Well, I'm still here and back in June I managed to cajole/insist/harass Christine into going on a road trip to HOT with me, so I'll be there! Not sure if I'm going to DNS or DNF - definitely one of the two since PT says NO running for me (haven't run in about 6 weeks). Haven't been doing much of anything except aquajogging (PT LOOOOOVES the aquajogging) and hamstring strengthening. Can't wait to see you again, Kendall! |

OK, so we have a few people who'd like to ride..I'll drive down also. I haven't met either Jeff or Tonya, so I'll be the large ugly guy, shaved head, black Carbonframes bike with Rev-X wheels. My tri bike frame is currently scheduled to arrive back from Calfee on Friday; that leaves me Saturday morning to build it back up from a bare frame, adjust it, and make sure nothing's going to fall off so I can ride it in the race. Sorry to hear you haven't been able to run..are you having knee problems? My email address is above; drop me a line. If you and Christine aren't down in time to ride Saturday, I'll see you both Sunday morning, bright and early. Edited by KendallF 2006-08-23 7:06 PM |

If you and Christine aren't down in time to ride Saturday, I'll see you both Sunday morning, bright and early. Hey, Kendall and thanks! Chronic hamstring injury which I am 3 weeks into repairing. I will drop you an email. My job is to get Christine there in time for packet pickup and any group ride she wants to do. I am making dinner for her and me (we rented the cottage) on Saturday evening; if you can hang around post-ride that would be GREAT! Would love to relax and chat with you - and feed you pasta if you'll let me. Something simple and it would be lovely to break bread with you (bring your girls?). I understand if you need get home, tho'. Edited by Renee 2006-08-23 7:22 PM |

Veteran 253 Florida | Subject: RE: Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon Yikes, knee injuries stink, that's what I'm most scared of...maybe swim and bike since you already paid for it, and then just ummm...sommersault...that would be different Ok, so, for those of you who want to meet up, lets meet up at the packet pickup area at 4:30pm on Saturday...I will be there with my husband...he is super skinny, about 6ft. w/black Mercier...I'm almost 6ft. myself (I'm a girl btw) fairly thin, with a LeMond (though my husband wants it, heh heh)...he's really fast, I'm really slow... SEE YOU ALL THERE PS-Anybody want to schedule any dinner stuff - if we do dinner, we'd have to leave our bikes in someone's room if thats ok... |

Buttercup 14334 | Subject: RE: Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon Hi, Tonya. I would be up for some laid-back hanging out after I've had dinner. I talked to Christine about bringing a board game or cards. Maybe have a spirited game of Cranium if we can rustle up enough players? See ya there! |

I believe we had talked about having dinner after the ride. We can leave the bikes in my room if we decide to do dinner. Post dinner activities for me will include lots of sleep, so dinner will be my last event for the day. Besides...well, nevermind. Anyway, ride at 4:30, then dinner with the group works for me. See you all there. |

Buttercup 14334 | Subject: RE: Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon Excellent venue. As soon as we pulled into the base, I said "I WANNA TRI, TOO!" What a terrific spot for a triathlon. Sorry we didn't get to do board games last night, Tanya. Christine made me clean her bike chain and derailleurs, then massage her feet. She let me rest after I made a 2nd beer run.

Master 1978 Chelmsford, Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon I will be back too. I had a blast. I have to say though, I seriously underestimated this course. SERIOUSLY. That one hill on the run just cooked me. But I totally had a great time this weekend, it was awesome meeting you Kendall, Tanya (is it O or A?) and Matt. Wasn't that dinner great? Next time we all meet up we'll have fried green tomatoes again, those ROCKED!!! Hope everyone else had a great time as well. Christine...I heard you say that four letter word when I told you about that big uphill!!! LOL |

Veteran 253 Florida | Subject: RE: Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon I loved the fried green tomatoes, the salmon wasn't half bad either...amd those big water glasses (if only Id had that much water on the bike part, I woulda been much better than I was)... Knock my socks off isn't even the word...but I feel better that I wasn't the only one feeling the pain...I swear, when I saw you going by me, I was just like, man, he's going so fast (as I scream go go go, because nothing else is coming out at the time)... Need to do hills and run a lot...dont think I'll try another Olympic till next year, but I think this will probably be the one I stick with, cause it is just so close to my house (only 36 miles!)... Renee - Lucy will have to share you with me next time, I'm jealous of the foot massage!! Hope you are feeling well enough to do it next year Today was my day off, all the pain was worth it just for all the free-of-guilt horrible for me food that I let myself eat yesterday and today...heh heh...tomorrow, out to the track to run!! |
