Who's all doing this race?  I just can't decide if I should do this race again this year or not.  I need some persuasion.  Maybe if enough "cool BT'ers" are going, I'll go!

Last year I satyed a hotel that was about 1/2 mile from the race venue.  It was ok, but was located across the street from an adult bookstore and a hub cap place that was called "WE GOT Wheels"- the name was spelled out in hub caps.  Not the greatest location but the hotel was fine.  (I didn't pick this hotel,  my friend booked it online not knowing.

IF I go this year, I'd like to stay closer to the river so I don't have to drive to the race the morning of- parking was pretty scarce.

I live here in Chattanooga and will be doing the race. Let me know if you all have any questions. This will only be my 2nd Tri, unless I do another Sprint before then. Runnergirl, you were in a rough part of town last year. Downtown has several nice hotels but I'm not sure about the price.

I was in the ghetto.  My friend booked the hotel online and the pictures looked nice.  Of course it didn't show the surrounding area.  If I do it again I'll stay on the riverfront.  I know last year those hotels filled up pretty quick.  I'm still debating if I should do this or not.  My only set back is having to do the drive alone.  It should  be about 3-4 hour dirve for me?  I'm not sure and can't remember.

When does everyone plan on getting there- Fri or Sat??

I am a new member and live in Nashville, want to start training for a tri. when is this event? Would it be too difficult for my first? I have run the country music marathon and ride frequently so I am totally out of shape. Thanks for any info. I am hoping joing bta will help me connect with some other folks.

First welcome to BT. There are several of us in the Nashville area myself, rrizzo, and trigods just to name a few. I have not done this tri before but I am still new to this and have completed three in the past three weeks. If you will look at the race nexus you can see all the events in Tennessee or go to my log page and I have several hyperlinked that I am doing so you can take a look at their web pages. Many are by Team Magic and their website is www.team-magic.com. Hope this helps and you can PM me for any other things about the area.

hey folks, looks like a good group of us going...didn't see this thread until today.

if anyone is planning on staying over on saturday night and would like to split a room let me know...I will call around. I would prefer nice hotel near race to walk and pass on the ghetto thing...my j. lo butt would get me nabbed too quickly...and for the newbie, come come!!! I am so new, from Nashville and this is my first olympic length but am doing it for the learning experience (I have to remember I said that when everyone else is beating me and I am feeling like a jerk)...but there are great BT people going!!

I can't wait for the chamagne (one of you does that right?...just have ice since you all will be done and drunk by the time I finish!) I think we are going to have a blast...

I have the best home made tortellini salad we can have with fresh herbs from my garden for either day before race or after

I think I will register for the sprint in Lebanon for my first. I am afraid the chattanooga tri will be too much for me.
