Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Michele and I am from PA. I have never done a triathlon but plan on doing a sprint one very soon. I have just been training on my own. I didn't realize there was so much information on this site. I just realized that most people follow a training plan for months before they compete. Oh well, I guess I will see how I do. I am super-duper excited! I also look forward to talking to some of you as I'm sure we must share similar interests.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you.

Michele

Michele,  Welcome to BT.  This is a tremendous resource, as you are finding out.  I have also been surprised at the wealth of knowledge here.  Some fantastic people also post in the forums.  What tri are you planning on doing?

I spent many summers in PA growing up as a kid.  I've been at this for a little over three years now, though I've always been into some manner of training since high school.  "Just finishing" is a great goal for your first race.  What are the distances?

Good luck and have fun.  I was hooked on this sport after my first sprint tri and I was happy just to finish.

Thanks for the good wishes. It is a sprint so I believe the distances are 500m swim, 16 mile bike and 3 mile run. Doesn't sound too bad, but we will see. haha. oh and yea, PA is nice in the summers!
