I have been using the Aqua Sphere Seal XP goggles for the last 2 seasons, but keep getting leaks during long swims.  They are fine up to about 800 yards, then they start to collect water in the left side so when I breath (yea, yea, I know I should be breathing bilaterally) my left eye gets water in it.  During my last OLY I had to roll onto my back 3 times to empty out the saltwater.  Any suggestions for those of us with large/wide faces?

This is what I am currently using:

Seal XP - Smoke Lens, Translucent Frame

How big a head are we talking about?  I have a fairly big head (size 7 5/8) and have had good luck with Aqua Sphere, specifically the Kaiman and Kayenne.

This is like saddles...trial and error ad infinitum...

One piece goggles have a softer seal all around the face...two things come to mind: if there's already some age on the goggles as sun and chlorine gradually get the silicon stiff and therefore the seal is not the same.

Try to push the goggles towards your eyes and try to create a slight negative pressure inside that will pull the goggles towards your face (as long as the seal is working it'll keep water out). When the seal is in good working order the googles should keep on your face without using the strap. (This is the same test used for scuba masks).

My vote is for the old an classic two piece goggles. There is still work in finding the right shape for them but there is less area for sealing and the shape of the face doesn't matter much (only thing to really adjust is the nose bridge).

Good luck

ditto, i've got a big ole melon and the kayenne's fit me very well.  I can never get the nose piece wide enough on the speedo type goggles.

Ditto x2. LOVE the Kayenne's. My noggin is about the same size as above, and have the same nose piece issue with Speedo types, but the AquaSphere's just rock. Super clear, no leaks, love the quick adjust buttons for the straps.

Exact same size head, so look like I'm off to find a pair of Kayennes.  Thanks everyone.

Hey, maybe try a pair of TheMagic5 goggles. You scan your face in their app and they produce a customized pair of goggles for your face. Basically there's supposed to be no leaks, no more raccoon eyes and you can wear them comfortably.

Love the Aquaspheres

I actually moved to the Aquasphere Vista - it's larger than goggles, but I have had great seals / no fogging over dozens of races
