Overall Rank = 16/174

Age Group Rank = 2/13
Pre-race routine:

Had breakfast at my mom's. It's nice having races near my mom's place, so I can actually get a decent breakfast.
Event warmup:

I got to the race a bit later than I would have liked this time, so all I got to do was swim.
Swim
  • 15m 13s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 44s / 100 yards
Comments:

The swim was good. I'm getting better and better at swimming in a tri. The run after winded me a bit, but overall it was a good swim. I liked catching up to some people in the "elite wave" ahead of me.
What would you do differently?:

Push a bit harder on the swim. My times in my masters class indicates that I'm a bit faster than this.
Transition 1
  • 00m 37s
Comments:

Nice and smooth. I slowed down for a couple of seconds to make sure my HR was not too high starting out on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Not much really. Gotta go fast if you want to place in this race.
Bike
  • 46m 27s
  • 18 miles
  • 23.25 mile/hr
Comments:

Pretty good bike. There was a bit of headwind on the way back, but I did what I could to soldier through it.
What would you do differently?:

I feel like I could have pushed a bit harder, but I'm still getting the run off the bike fine tuned.
Transition 2
  • 00m 36s
Comments:

This was probably my best T2 yet. Finally learning how to hustle here.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Pretty satisfied here.
Run
  • 30m 42s
  • 4 miles
  • 07m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

I held what I felt was a good, solid pace on the run. I was by myself for most of the run, so I didn't feel the urgency to push really hard.
What would you do differently?:

Learn how to go as hard as I can, regardless of my position in the race.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think for future Dragonfly races I'll sign up for the elite wave. In the age group wave I ended up in an odd spot where no one was around me. If I had started with the elite wave, it looks like I would have been in the thick of some quick guys that could have pushed me a bit more. Despite all this, I feel like I had a great race.
