Swim
Comments: It sure would have been nice if there was a paddle board or canoe at the 1st turn buoy. I swam at least 60M past the turn buoy and had I not looked back I would still be swimming. This cost me probably 2 mins extra in the swim as I swam at leats 120 extra meters. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Good ride. Played a little cat and mouse with Rich who finished in 3rd. Went past him on lap 2 and let him work hard to pass me again early lap 3. He slowed near the end of the 4th lap and I just stayed right behind him. When we got to the dismount line he kept his shoes on and I just jumped off the bike. I knew I'd be out of T2 faster than him so I just took off and knew he wouldn't get me on the run because there was no way I'd let him beat me. Transition 2
Comments: Very quick transition and this is where I pulled ahead of Rich. Run
Comments: Fastest run in our age group so I'll take it. I put petal to the metal as best I could. Passed 1 guy on 2nd lap thinking he was in my age group so didn't want him to come back on me. Turns out he was only on his 1st lap. Cramps were coming on and I pounded my quads with my fist to try to loosen em up. Took in as much water as possible and poured it on my head to stay cool. Ran with Stephan most of the way and we kept each other at a good pace. Good, solid run. Post race

Actually stopped for a big breakfast again. It worked out well again.
The usual but no swim warmup as race does not allow it.
