I got an email too, haven't read it yet. I think I'm going to try and change to short course though. With all the friggin travel this week I'm not feeling too spry. Plus, I haven't been in a pool since IMKS and I've only had three rides since then. On the plus side, I've ran something like two weeks straight every day. Still not a recipe for a great race.

TriMan25 - 2012-06-18 11:20 PM I know personally I will be doing the short course. Glad this one is semi close to home so don't have to travel over an hour away! Which race are you guys doing? Any advice from you guys that have done the short and long?

Fly down the rollers full speed ahead and watch out for those dad-blasted mountian and comfort bike racers who crawl at a snails pace as soon as they hit the bottom of a hill!

Mens and Womens Age group 25-29 are the last wave, starting at 8:05, green caps.  Just before that is the womens 40-49 age group and the relay teams.

Personally I think the run requires more HTFU than the bike, especially on the long coarse. Roller coaster hills are easy,vs. running two miles in stagnant air followed by 3/4 or so mile climb? The bike has never made me hurt like the run. Even the sprint run will pull your guts out.

Picked up my packet. Yet another bag for my wife, a very nice red sport top, the famous Velevet Cream popcorn, some paper trash, TRI-TATS for arm and AG calf, a sheet of stickers (the good kind that come off the bike and helmet without a fuss, and a Golden years gold swim cap.

Have fun everyone!

Although unlikely, did anyone get their chip at pickup?  The info sheet says not to lose it prior to the race, but I never received it.  Just checking in....
