Subject: Ability to retire equipment

I might be the only one who cares about this, but ...  is there a way to "retire" equipment without deleting it?  For example, I have a pair of shoes that I don't wear anymore and I'd like to keep track of them (I like knowing what shoes I wore and how many miles I put on them before I felt like I had to replace them) but don't want them showing up as needing to be replaced (because they've hit the magic 85% of max mileage).

I guess I would envision there being an option in the Sort Order drop down that would allow me to mark a piece of equipment as retired, so it doesn't show up in any active listings, but I would still know that I used it and how much mileage/time I put in on it.

It's early - am I making sense?

Edit:

I'm not sure I'm completely understanding this. If a piece of equipment was marked as 'Retired', where would you like it show up and how would mileage or time used be added to it?

Are you basically suggesting that 'Retired' equipment be removed from the 'replacement reminders' list? This can be accomplished by removing any values in Lifetime (hours): or Lifetime (distance): in the Equipment tracker. They'll still show up in your training log so you can log time and mileage on them, but there won't be any replacement reminders generated.

I could see a 'Retire' flag that would remove an item from the Equipment list in the training log so new time or mileage can't be recorded but you could still keep the old data.

Ideally, I'd like the equipment to show up in my equipment list (at the end, or maybe on a different page with a link to "Retired Equipment" but nowhere else.  If I wanted to start using them again, I'd have the option to "unretire" them.

Taking out the values for Lifetime Distance or Hours takes care of my primary concern (that I have a red message on my blog telling me to replace shoes that I've already replaced), but I'd love to have a cleaner solution for it.
