Subject: One of those days...

Today was swim day...I decided to ride to the pool (5 miles).   No problems there, but on the ride home after the swim, I decided I would take the scenic route and get more of a ride / workout out of it.

This particular ride takes me out into the country, on some windy roads.  At one point, the road is not marked with a center line, and the corners (A double "S" turn) are banked.  I'm cruising along, perfect day, then out of nowhere comes a couple of teenagers in a 20 year old beater, doing about 40 and diving into and out of the corners - Scared the crap out of me, I screamed "SLOW DOWN!!!" and rode on.

Feeling pretty good about my ride, I decide to extend it a bit.  After a small climb from the backside of Peacock Hill - I am rewarded with a screaming decent to the bottom of Peacock hill. As I am approaching the beginning of the hill I was so looking forward to - I am accelerating and a car whips around me... In a 25 mph zone.   So instead of shooting the hill - I had to ride the brakes behind this car (Yes, I was planning on speeding, yell at me if you want).  At the last second before a turn, he locks up his brakes - no signal...so I have to lock up mine thinking he was going to turn right, but he turned left.  The point is - he killed my momentum, and ruined the joy I was looking forward to.

At the bottom of the hill - around the corner a bit is a 3 way stop.  A truck approaches the stop sign on my left - clearly beat me to the stop sign, so I hit the brakes and nod to him to go ahead...I am still rolling, but very slowly...and he sits there.  So I am damn near at a track stand, and I am waving him on with my head - he finally starts to go slowly, so I start to pedal, and he hits his brakes !  He then yells, "You have a stop sign A**hole!"  I yell back "That's why I F*cking stopped!"  (I know, I shouldn't yell back, but this was the last straw)

Just one of those days riding - I am glad to be back in my living room typing this now.

Oh yeah - all of this is on 3 hours sleep, because I was out way past my bedtime with a female friend last night.  I can't wait to go to bed.

How was your day?

That's what you get for trying to extend your ride time! Just put your head down and go home--you don't own the roads! Or so the angry motorists think.

Thankfully, the days aren't all like this one. Get some rest

Sorry to hear about all the chaos!  Wow, definitely one of those days.

If it makes you feel any better here is my day since waking up:

My son stuffed cheerios into the sink in the bathroom so I cannot pull the drain up, so I have to figure that one out.  While at the same time he gave his Tom Brady action figure a swirly in the toilet and I had to get the head unstuck.

It is raining, so my midgets are stuck inside today, which is good because our A/C is out and no one can come fix it till tomorrow.

This boot on my foot from my toe fracture is driving me crazy, in more ways than one.

While typing this my daughters just gave the dog a "makeover" and he now has painted nails and lipstick and looks like he should have rolled up panties in a purse and doing the walk of shame!

At least I'm still smiling!  Tongue out

On my way to the pool on Monday there was a sign saying it was closed. Returned yesterday and asked the life guard what happened, "kid puked all over". Tuesday's swim burned off any bacteria I had on my body from all the chlorine.

It is one of those weeks.

Did it also burn off some skin?  Hope your week finishes on a high note.

I guess Sam (unless that's short for Samantha)...

One of my buddies from my Navy days called me Muskrat one day, and I have been "Muskrat" ever since.  It's a play on my last name, Musgrove.
