Veteran  130  |  Subject: for those that use salt pills during bike/run etc...Where do you keep your salt/electro pills during a race? I'm asking b/c I've had them break apart/spill and/or dissolve on a marathon run and also they are a bit small (thou I've been practicing) to get out of a mini baggy on the bike portion of a tri... Ideas?? I have Racine this Sunday and want to be more efficient, not have to slow too much or have them break... |

Tom always has the best answers... I just put them in my bento box on the bike and my jersey on the run...I've never run into any issues.  |

Im headed to the store now!! Great idea. The salt dispenser looks neat, but I fear my bike will start looking like it has too many contraptions on it. |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: for those that use salt pills during bike/run etc... I've had my Saltstick pills melt and get stuck in the end of my aerobars. For my IMs I will use one on each aerobar in case one gets gummed up. I find some cool containers at REI and Target to carry salt pills. The ones from Target are like these just one container that say AM/PM and are about 99 cents. They fit in pockets and bento box better than round containers like M&M mini containers. I like the AM/PM ones that are flat and oval, so if you drop some you have the other half with salt pills in them. I bring extras so in case I drop or loose some I have back ups. In IM races, I see dropped electrolytes pills all over the course. |

I think my current one if from one of the "fizz" type products. It is bigger than I need it to be, but it works. I do have to clean out the salt dust every so often from pills that have disintegrated. |
