Sunny
Total Time = 2h 28m 26s
Overall Rank = 78/763
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 14/98
Pre-race routine:

3 packets of Oatmeal, sipped on water and Roctane Drink, and had a Power Bar about an hour before starting.
Event warmup:

About 10 strokes in the water. Good to go.
Swim
  • 31m 25s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

All over the place. I kept bumping into people, and got my ass grabbed hard at one point. It was my most "physical" swim since IM WI 2007! I never found a good rhythm, but I wasn't freaking out either. Right side cramp about 10 minutes in.
What would you do differently?:

Dunno. I was already way to the outside most of the time (went around the BACK of a lifeguard once), so I'm not sure what else I could have done. Maybe swim a straight line better....
Transition 1
  • 02m 11s
Comments:

Dizzy, as usual. Took my time a bit, but it went well.
Bike
  • 1h 12m 7s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.67 mile/hr
Comments:

Solid effort for me! I pushed at the right times! Tried to keep it easier early on, but kept going a little harder (but not MUCH harder) than planned. Eased up a bit around mile 23.5, but kept it a bit harder than I had planned...
What would you do differently?:

Not a whole lot. Good bike!
Transition 2
  • 01m 35s
Comments:

Took my time here. Grabbed a gel and a swig of water and Roctane drink. DID NOT WANT TO BONK LIKE AT TRINONA!
Run
  • 41m 7s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

Did NOT want to bonk like at Trinona. Kept it a BIT easier, and glad I did. I walked a bit through the aid station after mile 5, but only did that for a few seconds. Left heel was a LITTLE tight through the middle, but the base of my heel felt OK.
What would you do differently?:

Not too much. I wasn't that disappointed that I had to walk a bit. I DO wish I could have pushed harder miles 4-6, but I'm just not as mentally strong as I'd like right now.
Post race
Warm down:

Nothing. Walked back to car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of tri training.

Event comments:

LOTS of volunteers wherever you need them. Great race organization! I wish the roads weren't as bumpy, but a heck-a-va great race LTF puts on!

way to go.  If your logs are accurate, you are still in great shape with less training this year....
