Subject: RE: Paralympics Ad I've driven / cycled / been a passenger on a train passing the Olympic park for the last five years watching it grow day by day. I only wish I'd have taken a photo a day but too late for that now. It's difficult to describe how proud it makes you as a Londoner and a Brit to invite the world into your back yard. Over the last week I've seen athletes all over town and adverts like the one in this link are starting to be played on a daily basis. I've nearly got permanent goose bumps and am regularly choked up watching documentaries charting GB athlete's progress to the greatest show on earth. I love this City and to think that the worlds greatest are going to be having out just down the road is, as you say, awesome. I drove past this morning and can make out all the final venues now - they've been built for a while but now all the finishing touches of colour, and flags have been added; the pool, the velodrome, the basketball and handball 'boxes', various practice areas, athletes village - it's absolutely buzzing. Brits like to keep their composure as much as we can but I'm done on this one - permagrin I've got half a dozen tickets to both sets of games and Can. Not. Wait. Once in a lifetime. |
