Subject: What to make of it all-rantI get that training for your 1st Ironman is no means feet and not a simple task ,take it for granted and it will punish you. I am about 2 months into a 10 month build up to my 1st ironman (8months to go ) . I am no different from anyone else I yes run a company and am flat out busy but I am sure most are . Starting my training has been from a very very small base level
I have had some good wins like my swimming now upto 2000 meters from xero. But as for running I haven't as my knees are so sore (always suffered from dodgy knees ) I walk but not that fast which concerns me I know it's a long way out or not so long till Ironman .when I am out walking / cycling people zoom past me which frustrates the hell out of me , but I have to tell myself all is well stick to MY plan race my race
I ask that question do I have a hope ? Hope that with continued structured training the body gets stronger and the knees harden up , this week work has been so busy and the body tired I haven't trained much which is a lost week
I have given up much loved beer it's been about 5 weeks loosing weight which is great - I guess I could really work harder on the diet to loose more weight and gain energy ? I may re look at meditation to slow the mind
Anyway I still believe I can do this but my goodness the body feels like its been dragged through a hedge backwards and I haven't trained hard this week - I guess you get good weeks where the trainng flows and others when it don't
Long rank but that's my cup of joe , thanks for reading |
