Overall Rank = 17/62

Pre-race routine:

My alarm went off at 6:45 (1:15 before the race started), I turned it off and layed there for a second. I looked back over at the clock and it now said 7:35!! Crap, I fell bike to sleep. Needless to say, I had a lot to do to make the race start at 8am!! Luckily the race is only one mile from my house so driving was not an issue. I did not have time for breakfast so I swallowed a Gu packet and drank a Dt. Mt. Dew...I know, great breakfast.
Event warmup:

4-5 blocks easy running, and a few minutes of easy stretching
Run
  • 22m 32s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 15s  min/mile
Comments:

good race, my goal was 22:00, so I fell a bit short of that, but it was still a new PR for me, as my previous was 23:21!
What would you do differently?:

Get up when my alarm goes off!!
Post race
Warm down:

drank some water, walked around, light stretching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing...I don't know if my current fitness level will allow me to perfom much faster than I did

Nice race...good job getting a new PR.  Mountain Dew and GU!!!!  I read that and my "gag reflex" started kicking in :-)  Congrats!

I don't think that I will make this race a "best practice" in race prep!   Although, I did get a PR out of it!!

Thanks
