Comments: MUCH BETTER THAN LAST YEAR I CUT 2 MIN OFF OF LAST YEARS T1 What would you do differently?: RUN INTO AND OUT OF T1 Bike
Comments: MUCH BETTER THAT LAST YEAR. MY PACE LAST YEAR WAS 13.5 MILES PER HOUR. I COULD HAVE GONE FASTER. What would you do differently?: PUSH MYSELF HARDER Transition 2
Comments: I LOOKED AT MY WATCH AND SAW THAT I HAD FINISHED THE RUN, T1, AND THE BIKE IN LESS TIME THAN MY TOTAL BIKE TIME LAST YEAR. I WAS THINKING WHAT A GREAT TIME AND HURRIED AND PUT ON MY VISOR AND RUNNING SHOES. I DID A GEL AND GRABBED A BOTTLE OF WATER AND TOOK OFF. WOW THAT WAS A FAST T2!! I SAW MY WIFE, MY GIRLS AND MY BUDDY ROB AND I WAS MOVING PRETTY WELL ON THE FIRST 1/4 MILE OF THE RUN.....UP UNTIL I REMEMBERED I DIDN'T PUT MY RACE BELT ON WITH MY NUMBER. LET'S SAY RUNNING\WALK THE 1/4 MILE BACK TO T2 I WAS PISSED AT MYSELF. I GOT MY NUMBER AND OFF I WENT AGAIN WITH MY CONCENTRATION SHOT. I RAN PAST MY FAMILY AGAIN AND MY DAUGHTER TAYLOR SAID DON'T GET MAD YOU CAN DO IT. LET'S SAY I TOOK ME A WHILE TO CALM DOWN. What would you do differently?: DON'T DORK!!!! WHEN I SET UP T2 I AM GOING TO PUT OUT MY RUNNING SHOES THEN MY RACE BELT AND THEN MY VISOR ON TOP. Run
Comments: FOR THE 1ST MILE AND A HALF I WAS PISSED BECAUSE OF MY BRAIN FART IN T2. I WALKED TOO MUCH! MY 1ST MILE WAS 11 MIN I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID THE 2ND MILE IN BUT I WALKED SOME. AT THE WATER STATION AT MILE 2 I PULLED MY HEAD OUT OF MY BUTT AND TOOK OFF AND RAN HARD PASSING PEOPLE ON THE WAY. I SAW A GUY A GOOD WAY IN FRONT OF ME THAT LOOKED LIKE MY SIZE SO I SET MY SIGHTS ON HIM. JUST BEFORE THE FINISH I PASSED HIM. MY TIME WAS 1:35:31 AND HE WAS 1:35:32. IT WAS COOL TO SEE MY FAMILY, JOE AND HIS FAMILY, ROB AND LISA AS I WAS CROSSING THE LINE. What would you do differently?: DON'T BRAIN FART T2 AND PULL MY HEAD OUT AND RUN. I SHOULDN'T LET A BIT OF A SCREW UP BOTHER ME ON THE REST OF THE RACE. OVERALL I IMPROVED MY TIME FROM LAST YEAR BY 20 MIN AND MOVED UP IN MY AGE GROUP AND OVERALL RANKINGS. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THAT. Post race
Warm down: HUNG OUT WITH JOE AND HIS FAMILY AND DRANK SOME WATER. What limited your ability to perform faster: I SLACKED OFF ON TRAINING OVER THE LAST 2.5 WEEKS I ATE LIKE CRAP AS WELL AND PUT ON ALMOST 10 LBS.
