Did anyone else do the niagara race? Why does it seem to have a smaller turnout then alot of the other races?

I volunteered at the race and thought it was a great turnout.  The bike racks seemed pretty full to me.

love this race.  I did it this year.  Swim in lake ontario is fun cause there are small waves which you don't get in other races in the area... downside is it's in lake ontario.

Bike course is great, very challenging hill but it's right at the start, then crusing for the rest.... one busy road which i didn't love

Run - quiet, parts near the lake and parts on the trails, couldn't ask for anything more!

I thought it seemed pretty well attended...the lines for the toilets were at the start anyways! I did the duathlon and loved it. The bike leg was fun, to motivate myself up the first climb I was just thinking 'I get to come back down this thing too-whoot whoot, although I almost rear ended a car coming back down and had to break the centre line rule doing 72kph-not a chance I was touching my brakes. The 7km run was nice; quiet, lots to look at, great volunteers at the aid stations. I had a great time, definitely on my list for next year.

I think the course is one of the best ones in the subaru series. The water is nice and clear usually and close to transition. The bike course is a fun one with that steep, steep short hill and nice smooth roads. Wish it was a little longer though. And the run is beautiful with the nice little detour in the woods at the end to break it up.

Just looked at the attendance stats from this year & last and they're almost identical;

2012
Tri 384
Dua 98
TaT 326

2011
Tri 384
Dua 126
TaT 333

So it doesn't look like it's dieing yet.
