I use something like this...

http://www.biketiresdirect.com/product/genuine-innovations-ultraflate-plus-co2-inflator

Actually, not that model, but the one that doesn't use a trigger.  I searched for it, but I couldn't find it so they might not make it any more.

Either way it's basically the same thing.  The good thing is that it can use threaded or unthreaded cartridges, and 12 or 16 grams.

Cartriges sold at bike stores are expensive...so what I do is buy the 12 gram unthreaded cartriges from sporting goods stores.  They are usually meant for things like air soft guns, and you can get something like 18 cartriges for $25...maybe cheaper.  The problem with 12g cartriges though is that they only get the normal 700x23 tire up to about 80 psi.  So during training I always carry a mini hand pump with me, pump up to about 25 psi (where the tire has full shape but still squishy), then use the 12g cartriged to get up to about 100 psi.

When racing, I use the 16 gram cartriges, and leave the mini pump at home.  You usually can't find the 16g cartriges in bulk, so they are more expensive, hence I save them for racing.

I actually just got that model in the mail today. Used a sram mini inflator once and hated it. Hoping the trigger is a plus for me. Have yet to try it

Very small and easy to use.  I like the fact that I can control the airflow with the twist of the knob.

I use this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Innovations-Air-Chuck-Elite-Inflator/dp/B003BMDI9E/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1345428711&sr=1-1&keywords=air+chuck

I was shocked at how good it was given that I've been disappointed in their products before. It's extremely helpful to have the push-to-inflate control so you don't accidentally shoot out all the CO2 if you're not correctly mounted on the valve. You can also inflate partway, check tube seating, and then fully inflate no problemo.

I used to have a noncontrollable chuck, and I was constantly worried about losing my CO2 shot if the tire wasn't mounted right or if the valve was engaged. This is a nonissue with the controllable one.

It's tiny, as well. Totally worth it.

That's the same one I use.

If you get any quality one they'll work.  Just make sure you test it out at home so your not at the side of the highway trying to figure it out for the first time.

I also forgot that my problem of expensive threaded C02's likely isn't experienced by most people.  I live in Hawaii, and they can only ship in C02 by boat...so I can't take advantage of the offers of bulk discounted threaded cartridges.  The only ones they bring in bulk to Hawaii are the unthreaded ones.  Cheapest you'll find threaded here is 3 for $9.  Ouch.
