So that is not one single photon but rather lots of them that they have synced and stitched together. But regardless to even see a single photon is absolutely amazing... Sure, that would be like video at a trillion times a second frame rate... even still, a trillionth time sync photo sequence is pretty darn awesome. I'm not sure what to think about the "around the corner" trick. Depending on the object, I would think at that level of complication a computer rendering could get it wrong. I suppose if you do a lot of modeling to teach it, but just watching the demo on the individual photos bouncing back and then stitching them together... what ever, I guess that is why they have people much smarter than I working on it.  |
