Pre-race routine:

plenty of sleep, plenty of time to travel. plenty of time to set up.
Event warmup:

  • 33m 50s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards

feel it was a great swim. Only a few long swims this season. Maybe 1 a week. Felt comfortable, good effort. Usual time. really at ease with it.
Transition 1
  • 03m 31s

Good T-1. Only 1 issue with forgetting to take watch off which caused wetsuit to hang up when taking arm out but took care of it on the run. Jogged thru the lanes to transition, no walking.
  • 1h 16m 28s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 20.56 mile/hr

Really tried to hammer the bike and have fun. ABle to do that. Computer showed 21 mph average. Rode new P3. Whizzed passed lots of people.

Passed Isis right near the end, really fun!!
Transition 2
  • 03m 10s

Lost a bit of time tying shoes and checking isis' bike rack and cheering her out of T2!!
  • 1h 05m 31s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 10m 34s  min/mile

Determined to get into a slow and easy rhythm right away. A bit crampy in guts, worked that out. Walked water stops every mile. Really surprised that the run actually went as good as it did since a minth ago I wasnt doing much of anything for workouts. Just really stayed positive and fun. No finish time pressure, just having a great day.
Post race
Warm down:

Super surprised I was able to get so close to 3 hrs!! Great times with isis and mav. Met michele and randy at the post race gig, great to see them!

Happy to run in BT gear, Isis and I looked like BT dorks!! heehee

What limited your ability to perform faster:

10 lbs and training...the usual limiters.

Event comments:

Plenty of good food, fun music and friends all around. Really missed the entire BT crew!!
